The Glen Cove conservation easement protects the conservation values within 178 acres of open space, upland forest, and important coastal bluff habitat, as well as approximately 46 acres of undisturbed shoreline and rich tideland habitat on property owned by the Port Townsend Paper Corporation. Located between the Old Fort Townsend State Park and the Port Townsend Paper Corporation Mill, the conservation easement creates an important, permanent, relatively natural buffer area between a popular public-access conservation area and a large industrial-use area. Jefferson Land Trust provides conservation easement monitoring and stewardship support to Washington State Parks, the conservation easement holder.
