In 2008 Jefferson Land Trust became involved in the protection of 5,000 acres of forestlands and riparian habitat along the Hoh River in West Jefferson County. The properties are owned and managed by the Hoh River Trust and are protected with conservation easements held by the Washington Department of Natural Resources.
Jefferson Land Trust provides conservation easement monitoring and stewardship support. The numerous parcels owned and managed by the Hoh River Trust contain long stretches of the wild Hoh River, important salmon-bearing tributary streams, old-growth forests, working forests, and old homesteads.
