The Land Trust and Chumsortium project partners have been working for years to preserve, restore and enhance the summer chum spawning habitat of the Chimacum Creek Estuary. Since the mid-1990's, more than 155 acres of mainstem habitat have been acquired, from the Irondale culvert down to the mouth of the creek. The former log dump at the mouth of the creek was restored I the spring of 2006. The estuary is a haven for many wildlife species and humans alike.
