The Freeman conservation easement protects 17 acres of riparian habitat on Tarboo Creek. Northwest Watershed Insitute and the Freeman Family began restoration work in 2005 by re-establishing the channel meander and planting riparian vegetation.

Owners' IntentTo protect in perpetuity the riparian and upland habitat and to insure that the conservation zone will be retained as a relatively natural habitatof fish, wildlife or plants, or similar ecosystem. Western Red Cedar, red alder, Doug Fir, and big leaf maple, with scattered hemlock and grand fir. Understory mostly pasture grasses, thimbleberry, sword fern and exotic blackberries.
Priority SpeciesMany different types of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish including mussels.
