In 1995, Joe Kurtzo willed 5 acres of land on Marrowstone Island to Jefferson Land Trust. The Land Trust sold the property with a conservation easement protecting 4 acres of forested wildlife habitat.

Owners' Intent

To protect, maintain and restore a relatively natural upland ecosystem and encourage the establishment of appropriate native species within the easement area.

Plants and Wildlife

Relatively high diversity of vegetation. Deer use these areas for resting.
